Otis Creative Action / Public Art Class

"WE'RE SURROUNDED:  ART & DESIGN FOR THREATENED NON HUMANS"

2014 Westchester Fourth of July Parade.  Our class of just 8 students blossomed to 60 paraders to arouse public interest in the plight of Endangered Species. We transformed a golf cart into a rhinoceros with its symbiotic birds donned as hats by the rhino riders. We made a school of sharks & whales with friends on bicycles. Our condors danced the parade route to jungle music. Our armadillo wagon carried cnc cut endangered species swag. We costumed friends, faculty and students in abstract big heads, butterflies, a paper tiger, honeybees on stilts, and all wore our logo'd t-shirts, caps & banners.  All biodegradable, recycled, paper mache & cardboard.
